Jose Angel Ramirez Cuenca

José Ángel was born in 1958, from his earliest childhood he began painting, this being a refuge through which he could express what was so difficult for him due to his hearing problems.
His mother had a stationery store, and secretly, she stole her pens, never a coin. Through his drawings he managed to communicate. Quijada discovers him, who said that he had a special talent. His mother, focused on his teaching, took him through different academies. He says of himself that he talks and paints for his mother. From the 70s he began to obtain recognitions, scholarships and prizes that encouraged him to continue with his career. He received a scholarship twice from the Castilla-La Mancha Community Board, another time from the Almagro Cultural Foundation, selected by the San Fernando Faculty of Fine Arts in Madrid, by José Sánchez-Carralero.
Five years later, he obtained the Very Special Arts Scholarship, from the Yamagata Foundation in Washington, D.C. (USA), and was selected by the painter Antonio López for an extraordinary chair (living model and still life). In 1995 he obtained the gold medal and the first international prize Exhibition of Dead, w.f.d. Congress of Vienna. From then until today, he has received many awards, his works have visited cities as diverse as: Mexico, Vienna, Lisbon, Joensun, (Finland), Wingfield (England), Washington, Barstedt (Germany) Venice, etc. His sensitivity to the misfortunes of the world lead him to collaborate continuously with his works. In 2009, at a fashion show by the renowned couturier Matías Montero, he donated one of his works together with a design by the couturier for the benefit of the victims of Haiti.
Every year at Christmas he draws a card with reasons for some misfortune that occurred that year and always incorporating the child who, according to him, is the most sensitive being.
