Victoria Barrios

Victoria Barrios, a Cuban-American born and raised in Tampa, Florida, began painting at a very young age. A self-taught artist, she delights in vivid colors and extravagant shapes. After years of experimentation Barrios has found her niche in acrylics with which she explores both the boundless richness of surrealism, as well as the disciplined rigor of portrait painting. Once asked why she is so passionate about painting, she wrote this:

“Life is a dark room. Sometimes, there is a tap at the door and we feel the warmth of another soul on the other side; or perhaps hear another voice. Sometimes, miraculously, a little light enters, revealing incredible color and beauty and form. When I see the light, I paint.”
