Luca Preo

I was born in Venice in the 1976, at 23 i'm gone away from home moving from Milano to Follonica, in Tuscany, where do i work and live.

I started painting later at 19 cause i'm always been a musician since I was 11 but always interested to the visual art, even if I've never attend any kind of academy cause my parents wasn't agreed.

The first time I'm been overcome by painting was during the maths and science hours, when i glanced at history book at David's paintings of Napoleonic Empire and , as it right, while I growed up I started to be interested in Monet, Van Gogh, all the impressionists and the romantics too .....I was

hopelessly in love with Ofelia died in her pond...
My first works, god knows where they are, was very rough and all at tempera......But what is been the moust important meeting to my life was all the contemporary art of XX century, from MirĂ², Picasso, Matisse, Frida, Modigliani, Guttuso to Basquiat, Warhol and Schifano

When I was 30 a fell ill with cancer and for many months i stopped to work and play cause my

hands was numb with chemio therapy and so I restarted to painting using just the forefinger to mix the colours just to enjoy my self and nothing more; in the meanwhile some colours shaded in favour of others and the lines becomed always more difined and personal.
Painting is a miracle!

All the Art is the greatest gift of Lord!

I feel that the creative human been inevitably tend to imitate his own Creator; ......look to the childrens! They just tend to represent the reality around in their drowing and as we grow we can decide to put it on our will to express our self.

Art must be a transparent coloured glass through we can show our deepest inside.....but you could be a great artist whether you got shit inside or you got the Holy Spirit in your heart ...it's a matter of conscience....especially if your artistic work is much visible.

I can't say what I wanna say in my paintings ......the painting itself tell me that life is pretty much rough and often worn out but it's great when the Incomplete and the Raw tend to the Artistic Beauty.....it's a sort of prayer.
