Jose Cabrera

Jose Luis Cabrera was born in Guatemala in 1984.

As a child, I was always a very inquisitive personality, I was always puzzled by the world around me. I always knew I want to be an artist, but this was odd because there were no artist were I lived, so I knew I was different but I didn’t understand it.

In 1990 I move to Miami were I decided to continue my education. Here I developed an naturalistic hunger for the Arts, First I started with drawing
and than I moved on to painting. I was instantly captured by possibilities that painting offered and no other medium gave me such extensive freedom. My First major break threw in the art world was in high school. I was blessed to be pre-selected to show in New York Metropolitan Museum of Art in the advance placement exhibition.

After that I have show in various prestigious show and have being lucky enough to market my work to very respectable collectors around the country. In the future I plan to continue my education as a fine artist in one of the best art schools in the U.S.. My plans to grow as an artist will be a life time journey, this is only the beginning. After all, Images is what I eat.

The painter stumble like a blind man in the darkness of a white canvas. The light that slowly appears is paradoxically created by the painter, who creates poetry with out words. The painter one of God’s own prototypes, pure genius waiting to be discovered , never intended for mass production.

Artist statement: Jose Cabrera (Enzime)

We paint portraits of our self when we had no idea who we are. We try to find God in landscape that we destroy faster than we can paint them. We are told that art is the lies that make us realized the truth. But the form we use to embody them had became hopelessly absolute. The truth is that you can’t create art or life, that is why we must work in the space in between. I begin with the possibilities of the materials. Then I let them do what them can do, so that the artist is almost like a by stander while he is working.

Then the art work can become alive on its own, in the up most natural of ways.

In the 21 century, I believe that ART will take amazing new directions while still embracing the past of art history. After all we won’t know were we are going unless we at look were we have been. I think art itself is not only the oldest, but highest form of communication. Art may even be the last evolutionary step that is responsible for modern day humans.

After all ,restless creativity has made it possible for us to create tools that have aloud human to go from hunters and gathers to unimaginable technology like space travel and beyond. That is why art is not just pretty pictures on a wall.
