William Mazziotti

Bill's uncle introduced him to art with a basement studio filled with everything from watercolors to oil paints. His formal education started with his time at the Art Students League of New York and continued when he earned his B.A. and M.A. in studio art at Long Island University's C.W. Post campus. Bill's work has appeared in galleries in New York and Florida.

ARTIST STATEMENT
Painting is both an intrinsic and habitual part of my life. If too many days pass without creating, I feel unfulfilled. I never know where the inspirational trigger is going to come from. It could come from watching TV, reading the newspaper or from any other aspect of my daily life. I then make a quick sketch for future reference. It may become a drawing or a painting, but how I'm going to use it is the big question.

I learned each of the artistic movements as separate entities, but I combine elements of minimalism, surrealism, abstract expressionism, gestural, figurative/conceptual and graffiti as appropriate to reflect my specific dialect of art.
