Daniel Hanifan

About the Artist…

Daniel is best known for his over sized contemporary paintings (one of the largest being twenty-six feet by seven feet) filled with layers of colors and natural textures. After adding one more brush stroke or color to a canvas, Daniel has learned to walk away and to come back later to look at the painting and to listen to what the painting has to say. One art critic described his art as big, bold and beautiful and explores the relationship of colors, how they interact side by side in complementary relief or dynamic contrast. Another wrote that Daniel’s work involves exquisitely crafted textile surfaces, and his palette is masterful with color that reflects all the luminosity of ancient Thai silk.

Daniel’s paintings have been shown in numerous galleries and exhibits including Annette Howell Turner Center, The Flint River Aquarium, The Coleman Gallery, The Art Space International, The Biltmore, The Smith Northview Hospital, The Low Museum, The City Market, The Galleria, The Louis Smith Memorial Hospital, The Thomasville Cultural Center, The Historic Carnegie Library, The Julian Mathis Interior Design Showroom, The Rivermill Center Gallery, The Naples International Interior Design Center, The Phoebe Putney Hospital Gallery, The McCard Interiors, and The Ocmulgee Arts, Inc.

In addition to his exhibits, Hanifan can be found working with clients on commissioned residential and commercial paintings, interior design projects, acting, producing, designing, and painting scenery.
